Who we are

Shepherd Filter is provided by Timothy Roe Computer Services, LLC (“we”). [Business address to be added.]

This website

shepherdfilter.com sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. Fonts and pictures are served from this site, not from third parties.

If you send the demo request form, we receive what you type (your name, work email, role, school and message) by email and use it only to reply to you. We do not add you to a mailing list. Our hosting and content delivery provider, Cloudflare, processes the technical data any web request carries, such as your IP address, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

The Shepherd service

Schools use Shepherd to filter and monitor school-managed Chromebooks. For that service the school is in charge of its data and we process it on the school’s instructions, under a data processing agreement. The security and privacy page lists what Shepherd collects, why, and the outside services it uses.

What we never do

  • Sell personal information, or use student data for advertising or to build profiles unrelated to school.
  • Use student data for any purpose other than providing the service to the school.
  • Ask students to create accounts or sign in.

Families and students

If you are a parent or student with a question about data Shepherd holds, please contact your school first; it controls the data and can view, export or delete it. You can also write to us and we will work with your school. [COPPA, FERPA and state student-privacy rights wording to be drafted.]

Retention and deletion

[Retention periods for browsing history, flags, screenshots and audit logs, and deletion timelines after a contract ends, to be set and stated here.]

Changes

We will post changes here and tell subscribing schools before material changes take effect.
